CONNECTICUT SPIRIT NEWS
For the second year in a row, a group of CT Spirit players has lead their high school team to win a CIAC Championship and the number one ranking in the state.
Bulkeley High School won the 2005-06 Class L Championship lead by seniors Shanice Billington, Chaquaei Baskerville and Patrica Sampson. It was the first championship appearance and win for a Hartford girls basketball team. Bulkeley finished the season 26-1 and the #1 ranked team in the state.
This year (2006-07) Holy Cross won the Class M Championship lead by five seniors: Kim Clements, Chelsea Cracco, Morgan Johnson, Kelly McKeon and Brittany Wilkes. In addition to the Class M Championship, these seniors ended their high school careers with an NVL Championship, #1 ranking in the state and a PERFECT 26-0.
